Director of Education
Deanna Morris-Stacey is the Director of Education for Abingdon Foundation. Deanna joined the board in 2019 and was selected because of her extensive background in education. Deanna was our 2018 DEMA scholarship winner and got so involved with Abingdon Foundation that she grew her application creative submission into an educational tool for every industry supported by the Foundation. We now use these Fact Sheets to help reach out to women and girls interested in career opportunities.
Deanna is the Director of Programs and Initiatives at the Tennessee Board of Regents, the College System of Tennessee. She’s been an educator for over 20 years. Part of her current role is to work with the 40 colleges in the Tennessee system to provide training needs to new and existing businesses and industries.
Deanna has a BA in English Education from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, an MA in Education from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN and plans to pursue an MS degree beginning summer 2019. She currently holds a license to teach middle and high school English and continues to expand her expertise in STEAM education and training.
Besides being a Scuba diving enthusiast, Deanna enjoys other outdoor activities and hiking, as well as being an avid reader and music critic. She’s a member of the Middle Tennessee Choral Society, a group that performs at least three concerts a year. She and her husband Roger have a daughter currently in college. Their family also includes a miniature schnauzer named Dobby.
